Xiaomi and AOKP now are partners


It seems that Beijing-based Xiaomi and Android Open Kanh Project (AOKP) will work together on the new version of MIUI V7.

This information appeared in AOKP’s blog, the developer of «Unicorn» says, that new Xiaomi ROM has codename MiKangy.

According to this article in blog, Xiaomi is now working on the new MIUI Version 7 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Expected that the new firmware will be released along with a Mi5 smartphone. But MIUIers should not wait the new ROM and flagship soon. Latest rumors said, that Mi5 will be released in the fourth quater of this year, approximately in October-December.

Flat MIUI V6 on Xiaomi Mi Note

This unusual collaboration remind us of cooperation of Yu Yureka and OnePlus with CyanogenMod. The collaboration resulted in the emergence of Yu Yureka smartphones for India with CyanogenMod OS inside.

AOKP promises that we are waiting for a lot new and interesting features in MIUI V7. For example UI in every Mi5 phone will be different. User interface will be pesonilised to the traits of it’s individual user.

Also AOKP says, that it will continue to work on its own ROM, and their fans should not be worry. Partnership with Xiaomi is something like one huge experiment.
